Writing is something I never ever intended to do with my free time. I’m just a girl with a finance degree who likes numbers and finite answers, not abstract ideas. So what is someone like me doing with a blog? It all started when I received a message from one of Jimmy’s fans soon after we got married. The simple question was, “How did you meet?” Of course, being a girl, I didn’t give a simple response. How could I? It wasn’t a simple answer, but a beautiful story of God’s faithfulness! So I proceeded to write her a multiple page answer telling the story of how God had to capture my heart fully before leading me to my current other-half.
Well, not to long after that, Jimmy read this response and asked me if he could post it on his myspace as a blog. After editting the response to fit a blog style, he posted a blog from me titled: “To the ladies, from my wife.” I must admit, I didn’t expect much of a response. But to my surprise, my myspace inbox was swarmed with messages! I eagerly began to answer the 100s of messages that I had received, only to realize many of them were asking the same questions. Thus, another blog post was born titled: “The Need to Surrender.” This pattern continued and I began writing more posts, mainly in response to the questions I was receiving in my inbox.
Since I orginally posted those 4 original blog posts on myspace, I have continued to receive comments and messages almost daily from girls and guys that end up reading them on Jimmy’s myspace or website. I have been so excited to see God use our story to bring encouragement and a challenge to live for Him alone. How funny that God would use the writing of a finance major to bring about change in peoples’ lives! And after many requests to keep posting, I am finally setting up an official blog site for that very reason.
So welcome to my website! My hope is that this site can be encouraging, challenging, and insightful to you as I share honestly about the struggles and joys I face in my day-to-day life. Obviously, being married to a signed and travelling recording artist, my life is a bit different than the average woman’s. But hopefully, this will give you insight into what it is really like living such a life.
